Home to the WV Lobotomy Project, no paranormal list is complete without the infamous Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. This psychiatric hospital was originally built for 250 patients, but the population rose to over 2,000. Conditions were atrocious, and many patients suffered. Since closing its doors, maintenance staff have reported ghosts, as well as other paranormal sightings.
