Antony Baekeland – On 17th November 1972 he stabbed his mother to death. At his trial witnesses told of an incestuous relationship between Antony and his mother. Barbara had been trying to ‘cure’ her son of his sexual preferrences. He was discharged from Broadmoor in July 1980 and went to live with his grandmother in New York. He had only been there a week before he attacked the elderly woman. He was locked up on Riker’s Island and committed suicide there on 21st March 1981.
