Talk about getting into character!  Robert De Niro actually became a real cab driver in New York City in order to better play his role as a cab driver in the movie “Taxi Driver.”  The movie was about a Vietnam vet who had a problem with insomnia so he became a cab driver at night.  This was not the only time he has “gotten into character” for an upcoming movie.  For the movie “Raging Bull,” he trained with Joe Pesci beforehand and for the movie “Cape Fear,” he went through a complete transformation, building up at the gym, getting tattoos, and even having his teeth ground down.
