Workers in the Costa Rican jungle stumbled upon more than 300 of these spherical stone balls. They range in size from as small as a tennis ball to an astonishing 8-feet in diameter, weighing 16 tons. They are believed to have been carved between 200 B.C. and 1500 A.D. Although these stone balls are clearly man-made it is unknown who made them, for what purpose and, most puzzling, how those responsible for building them were able to achieve such spherical precision.
