The picture is from a Mesopotamian cylinder seal dated from 3300 B.C. The animal on the right is an artist's conception of an Apatosaurus taken from a skeleton. There are many striking similarities between the two depictions. Where did the original artist, in 3300 B.C., get the model to draw such an accurate representation of a saurapod?
