One of the most popular actresses in the 1960s for her sex appeal and charm, Ann-Margret started her career when she was discovered by George Burns.  She appeared in many popular movies like “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Viva Las Vegas” with Elvis Presley, “Magic” with Anthony Hopkins and “Grumpy Old Men” with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.  In 1963, interestingly, she played an animated version of herself in “The Flintstones.”  There was a short break in her career when she suffered a freak accident in 1972 — she fell 22 feet from a platform onto the stage breaking bones in her face and arm.  Her husband rushed her to surgery by flying her in a stolen plane.
