Linda Moulton Howe Live 2/28/18
Hi everyone! Welcome to earthfiles webcast on youtube this is February 28th 2018. The last day of this month and a year that seems to be speeding even faster than last year with more and more news. I can't tell myself whether I am more entertained now by the news on the 6 o'clock news or what I'm getting in emails, videotapes, phone calls from people out there in the world. Everywhere now who seem to have information about something that falls into the category of an alien presence. I have never received such a stream of information and a lot of it seems to be coming from people who actually can prove who they are.

Now 20 years ago in April of 1998 I received a phone call from a California resident who said he was an acquaintance of a man whose father-in-law had worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in the late 1950s and his work included ET and UFO investigations for the CIA. The caller thought that I should talk with the son-in-law to see if I could speak with the then 62 year old father-in-law living in the south eastern United States whose health was deteriorating with severe diabetes. After the son in-laws and my first conversation he called me back with a phone number to his father-in-law who is retired and living with his wife in Florida. On May 2nd 1998 I dialed the number of the former CIA analyst and US Army cryptographer who is featured in huge detail in my 20 part series at Earth files in which I use two different names Stein s T ein and Cooper spelled ke wpe are both named that he recommended that I use. I have never ever used his real name.

  Dragon Bridge, Vietnam

Dragon Bridge, Vietnam

Long a symbol of power and fortune in Asia, dragons are seen all over the continent — from dragon statues adorning temple structures to dragon ink paintings hanging in homes. But Vietnam takes the dragon motif to a whole new level when it unveiled its 2,185-foot-long Dragon Bridge, located in the city of Da Nang, in 2013. The steel, dragon-shaped bridge, which spans the River Han, literally breathes fire from its mouth. The fire-breathing show takes place every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m., according to CNN. The bridge is also illuminated by more than 2,500 LED lights which treat spectators to a dazzling light show.

  Eshima Ohashi, Japan

Eshima Ohashi, Japan

Bridge or "roller coaster?" The Eshima Ohashi Bridge, a concrete road bridge, spans a mile across Lake Nakaumi in Japan, linking the cities of Matsue and Sakaiminato. But what gives it a thrill-ride factor is the fact that it rises so ships can pass underneath, according to the Daily Mail. It has a gradient of 6.1 per cent on the Shimane Prefecture side and 5.1 per cent on the Tottori Prefecture side. But looks can also be deceiving. When seen from a distance at its side, from start to finish, the bridge actually reveals a gradual incline, not the sharp 45-degree angle it appears on photos, according to the New York Daily News.

Circular Laguna Garzon Bridge, Uruguay
Located on Uruguay's southern coast, the new ring-shaped bridge across Laguna Garzon was built to replace a raft crossing between the cities of Rocha and Maldonado. Designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, the curved design was chosen to force drivers to slow down, according to TechInsider. The bridge also features two pedestrian walkways to take in the view. While the raft crossing previously only allowed two cars to cross the lagoon, this new circular bridge allows 1,000 vehicles to pass at a time, reports Amusing Planet. Its construction is also expected to improve coastal development along the city Rocha.

Lucky Knot Bridge, Changsha, China

Unveiled to the public just last week, this knot-shaped, ribbon-like steel pedestrian bridge crossing the Dragon King Harbour River in the Chinese mega-city of Changsha was designed by NEXT architects. The Lucky Knot bridge, which is 606 feet long and 78 feet high, was inspired by the principle of the Mobius ring and the traditional Chinese folk art of knotting. The bridge's looped design features three footpaths that wind up and down, connecting two parks and offering stunning views of the river, the adjacent Meixi lake, the surrounding mountain range and the city of Changsha.

  12 Strangest Cryptid Photos

12 Strangest Cryptid Photos
5. What appeared to be the corpse of an extraterrestrial was found in Russia … and so far, scientists have no idea what it is! The tiny body has a distended skull, talon-like feet and an elongated body … making many people think it looks like something from a sci-fi or horror movie. Two locals claimed to have found the corpse by a river near the town of Sosnovy Bor (sas-NAH-vee bore), which is located in close proximity to a nuclear power plant. Researchers studying the creature say it is neither fish nor fowl, and does not display a neck or wings. A biologist claims that extensive analysis will have to be conducted before the creature can be identified. Could it really be an extraterrestrial?

4. Wildlife experts were baffled by a mysterious beast seen roaming about the Los Angeles area. The large, catlike creature was caught on video by a security camera as it ambled through the city of Norwalk.at night. The grainy images seem to show an animal that is thought to resemble an African lion. There have been no further sightings of the critter since it was recorded on video in 2014 … and city officials do not consider it to be a hoax.. Experts have ruled out the possibility of the creature being a mountain lion … but other theories suggest the animal might be some sort of hybrid dog … or some animal species that has never been encountered!

3. Not Quite Extinct? (Thy-la-SINE) Although it was declared extinct more than 80 years ago (1936), sightings of the Tasmanian Tiger are still reported. Some newly-released footage shows what some people believe to be the actual animal! The video was captured in 2008 by the ‘Thylacine Awareness Group of Australia’. Neil Waters, the group’s founder, says the animal in the video is definitely a thylacine … although it could represent a subspecies of the critter. The animal displays characteristics of the Tasmanian Tiger … including a thick neck and stocky build … and a long, stiff tail that stays motionless, unlike a dog’s tail. Did you know Thylacines were the largest known carnivorous marsupials in modern times? The last one was thought to have died at Tasmania’s Hobart Zoo in 1936.

2. Now You See It A mysterious figure was captured in a photograph … and pictures of it were posted on Reddit in an effort to identify it. While the uploader did not take the pictures, they were taken in quick succession at night …at an unidentified location. The first picture displays an empty lawn with a full moon visible. The second picture shows what appears to be a small, goblin-like creature standing on the lawn. The uploader claims the photos were taken no more than two seconds apart … And the object was not visible to the photographer, despite seeming to have been about 10 feet in front of them. Yet, whatever it was apparently produced a shadow … which would rule out a smudge on the camera lens. The uploader claims that no editing or digital tricks were employed by the family that took the pictures. No one seems to have come up with a definitive answer … yet. What do you think?

1. A Russian research team captured footage of a strange creature lumbering through the woods in the southwestern part of the country. A large, dark figure can be seen emerging from snow-covered trees … then disappears after a few moments. While there’s some dispute of what the animal might be, the team says the creature is a Yeti! Residents of a nearby mountainside resort claimed to have seen the creature … and described it as big and shaggy … but not a bear. Before shooting the footage, team members say they heard a crunching sound in the snow … later, they found huge footprints in the vicinity of which they took a plaster casts. The prints were pressed up to six centimeters (more than 2 inches) deep in the snow … indicating that the creature could weigh approximately 200 kilos (440 pounds). Reports suggest the prints could not have been made by a human. The footage, along with casts of the footprints have been turned over to local scientists for further analysis.

  UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT, BURLINGTON

UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT, BURLINGTON

The University of Vermont is the largest higher education institute in Vermont. It was established in 1791 and was the fifth university founded across New England. The school welcomes thousands of students every year, but it seems as though many of them never actually leave! Over the years, many homes were bought and absorbed into the campus. One of these properties is the Counseling Centre which was once the home of Captain John Nabb. The staff say that he is still there and makes himself known by knocking over buckets and slamming doors and windows. Similarly, the nearby Public Relations building is said to be haunted by its former owner John E Booth who makes various banging noises all over the house. The most haunted house on the campus is said to be The Bittersweet House where many people have reported seeing full body apparitions. It is believed that the ghost there is Margaret Smith who was widowed at a young age and spent the rest of her life as a recluse until she died in the house in 1961.

Not all of the ghosts at the University of Vermont are former residents, there is a far more tragic spirit in the Converse residence hall. In 1920, a young med student called Henry committed suicide in the building and is still there, manifesting himself in the form of poltergeist activity. The school is said to have more haunted buildings on campus than anywhere else in the state of Vermont making it one of the most haunted places in Vermont.

  LAKE BOMOSEEN, WEST CASTLETON
Posted by: Mark - 03-29-2018, 09:14 PM - Forum: Haunted Locations and Ghost Stories - No Replies

LAKE BOMOSEEN, WEST CASTLETON

The town of West Castleton on Lake Bomoseen has been abandoned since the 1930s. Prior to that it was full of mills and quarries with immigrants coming in from places like Italy, Ireland and Eastern Europe to settle in the area. It was a busy industrial town. However, it is now a ghost town and is said to be extremely haunted. One of the most common tales is that people have seen a ghostly row boat making its way across the lake towards a tavern at the far side. The oars make no ripples in the still water! It is believed that this haunting links to a story where some men from West Castleton once rowed over to the tavern, but never returned home. The next day the boat was found floating in the lake with no sign of the men.

NORWICH UNIVERSITY, NORTHFIELD
Norwich University has a number of different ghost stories attached to it involving four different halls on campus. First of all there is a legend that there is a boarded up dorm room in Alumni Hall where a student is said to have hanged himself. Several years later, the boy’s brother came to the school and was somehow allocated the same room. He also hanged himself which is why the room is now boarded up. Students say that you can hear strange noises coming from inside. At Chaplin Hall there is said to be a ghost to hangs around at the front door. In the past, the hall was used as a library and there were regular reports of books floating off of the shelves! The other two haunted halls on campus are Ransom Hall and Hawkins Hall which have similar events occurring inside. Many students have said that they have awoken in the middle of the night screaming and unable to move or breathe as though something is holding them down. It is not just the halls that are haunted. There are also reports of a female ghost at Sabine Field who apparently guards the gate to the football field!

CAMPBELL HOUSE, SPOKANE
Campbell House is one of Washington’s most well known historical landmarks. It was designed and built by Kirtland K Cutter in 1898 and was first owned by Amasa Basaliel Campbell. There is a very sad history attached to the house. In the early 1900s, 3 of the Campbell children were murdered by a burglar who also kidnapped the fourth child. The child was never returned. With such a tragic past it is hardly surprising that the Campbell House is one of the most haunted places in Washington. Visitors describe feeling a very unsettling feeling on entering the house and are often overcome with dread. There is a portrait of Amasa Basaliel Campbell in the house that is said to follow visitors with its eyes as they wander the house
